Goals
Our goal is to obtain funding to continue this project and develop a documentary film to tell the story of these heroes. The film would be a 60 to 120 minute documentary with dramatic reenactments.
Work Completed
Needs and Next Steps
Work completed on the project includes:
1) Research on the history and significance of these heroes
2) Professional interviews of eleven (11) Americans who joined the RCAF. Each is a minimum of a 1 hour video taped interview. David Devries was the interviewer and each was professionally videotaped. Each of the respective veterans recounted their respective experiences while serving.
Tail gunner, spitfire pilot, bomber pilot.........
3) Logs and diaries obtained in some cases.
4) Demonstration video that profiles, in an abbreviated approach, the significance and value of the story of these heroes.
5) Video link below (Demo Video). Click on sound once opening the video.
View our "Demo Video." (Link below, and enable sound when opened). We welcome your thoughts and if you, or others you know, have an interest in helping with this project with funding and/or information you may have such as logs, diaries, film footage from family members who, for example, were part of this group of these brave and self-less volunteers.
In terms of making this a finished program, we anticipate funding could be $400,000 to 450,000. The program would bring to life the story of these heroes, relying on interviews obtained, logs, diaries ,archival photography and dramatic reenactments.
